About Your Visit

 

Whether your initial visit is a meet and greet with myself or your Welcome to Optimum Health comprehensive history and physical exam,  you will be greeted warmly by our experienced friendly staff as you enter our modern spacious waiting room overlooking the Guadalupe river.  Prior to your history and physical you should have completed the health history, registration and privacy practices notification forms (available on this website under “Patient Resources.”)  If available, we will also need your past medical history records.

From the waiting room you will be escorted by our nurse to the examination room.  She will enter your vital signs, medications and allergies into the electronic medical record.  She will then step out so you may privately change into a comfortable cotton cloth examination gown.  She will then perform an EKG and notify me.

I will then greet you and spend time reviewing your past medical, family and social history.  I will then perform an examination and then share those findings with you.  We will then create a list of each of your medical issues  and develop a strategy with you on how to address each of them.  Any health care maintenance that is due will be discussed.  Laboratory work or imaging studies that are needed will be reviewed and ordered.

Asking questions is encouraged!  This is a team effort and your participation is key for an optimum outcome!
